Apex Legends - Mirage Guide

Newly buffed for Season 5, Mirage (my favourite legend) finally gets the love he desperately needed in order to be competitive and helpful for his team.

Known as the “Holographic Trickster” of Apex Legends, Mirage uses his Holo-Pilot technology in order to gain an advantage in the midst of combat, making him a great choice for aggressive play.

Three words: Win, and win again. Yeah…

Passive Ability: Now You See Me… – His new passive ability (previously Encore!) allows Mirage to fill a more support role to help out his team mates. Instead of just vanishing when downed for a few seconds, Mirage can now also fully cloak whilst reviving downed squad members.

Tactical Ability: Psyche Out – Mirage’s tactical ability allows him to send out a decoy to confuse enemy players. Buffed after the update, this also allows him to control his decoy friend to mimic his actions, and currently lasts for 60 seconds, or until it is shot. Mirage can also use this ability when skydiving (by pressing L1 on PlayStation) to send out two decoys.

Psyche Out can be extremely satisfying if used correctly, as in the heat of a gun fight one right decoy can turn the tides in your favour, if the other legends fall for it. It can also be used to gauge distance, as when damaged the team will be alerted as to the enemies’ whereabouts.

Ultimate Ability: Life of the Party – Formerly Vanishing Act, Life of the Party allows Mirage to summon a team of 5 decoys that all mimic his actions. This makes for some extremely creative and bamboozley plays, as enemies won’t know which Mirage is the real one, this is until you open fire.

Not gonna lie, I’m pretty good at this. Okay, I-I do lie. But not this time!

The youngest of four brothers, Elliott “Mirage” Witt mastered the art of goofing around for attention. This is something which is prevalent in-game (his voice lines expertly delivered by Roger Craig Smith made him my go to pick). The charming trickster also really loves pork chops… I mean who doesn’t right?

While working as a bartender to make ends meet, Mirage heard amazing stories from his patrons about the Apex Games and the wealth and glory that came with victory. As good as both of those sounded, he knew he couldn’t risk leaving his mother childless – until she gave him a set of customized holo devices and told him to follow his dream. Mirage is now the life of the Apex Games, outwitting opponents and charming audiences across the Outlands.
